Ovatec 277 is a case-hardening steel that, when carburized, can be cooled directly from the carburizing temperature, avoiding quench baths and reducing the hardening distortion and the subsequent need for machining. Ovatec 277L is standard bearing quality, and 277T is premium bearing quality.
