EASTERN STAINLESS Type 304 is the basic 18-8 chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel. It is well suited for welding and is highly resistant to severe forms of corrosion. It combines high strength with excellent stability and shock resistance, even at cryogenic temperatures. It has good hot-working and cold-working characteristics and is non-magnetic in the annealed condition. Type 304 is used widely for machinery and equipment in a wide range of industries.
