UNS S35000 is a transformation and precipitation hardening stainless steel. It is austenitic in the annealed(H) condition with formability and weldability comparable to AISI 300 Type stainless steels. After fabrication, appropriate heat treatments are employed to harden the alloy to high strengths comparable to the hardenable AISI 400 Type stainless steels. The alloy is designed primarily for light sections.
