Dagua, a Canadian manufacturer of prefabricated drinking water treatment plants for
small communities has developed two versions of its DaguaFlo to treat high and low
turbidities for surface water or groundwater contaminated by surface water.
The built-in unit integrates ozone disinfection, ultrafiltration, biological filtration and
ultraviolet lamps. During an on-going pilot study in Farnham, this unit treated
raw waters with turbidities of 95 NTU down to less than 0.05 NTU. Another case
study in Eastman illustrates the lower capital costs and operational costs of the
second unit version. Includes 3 references, tables, figures.
