The objective of this research was to perform bench scale studies in order to evaluate the effectiveness of ballasted sand flocculation (BSF) and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection technologies used in treating combined sewer overflow (CSO) generated during the storm events. The performances of BSF and UV disinfection along with fouling of UV lamps were studied using different coagulants at different concentrations under varying effluent compositions for both dry and wet weather conditions.
