This powerpoint presentation outlines a desalination feasibility study for the island of Maui in Hawaii. Maui water supply challenges are listed, along with planning requirements related to the
County Department of Water Supply System and Central Maui Projected Capacity and Demand. Water quality evaluation information is provided for seawater source alternatives and brackish groundwater alternatives. A treatment technology evaluation is outlined on
processes for both brackish and seawater in terms of requirements and factors, and comparing costs of various seawater desalination technologies. Concentrate management issues and options are presented along with a brackish water conceptual design of a reverse osmosis
(RO) process flow schematic, site evaluation, preliminary cost estimates, and implementation.
