This powerpoint presentation begins by providing an overview of the city of Toronto and discusses the Community Program for
Storm Water Management (CPSWM) that
encourages non-profit groups
and organizations to help
promote and support the
principles of the Wet Weather
Flow Master Plan. It is also
a funding program developed
by the City of Toronto and
carried out in partnership with
the Toronto and Region
Conservation Authority. The guiding principles of the
CPSWM are based on the
Wet Weather Flow Master
Plan: to help improve our
river, stream and lake
water quality by
eliminating the negative
effects of storm water
runoff. It also discusses the Wet Weather Flow Master Plan (WWFMP), the largest planning process to address
the impacts of storm water and
combined sewer overflow. Its
goal is to reduce, and ultimately
eliminate, the adverse effects of wet
weather flow/runoff that is generated
when it rains or snows. The benefits of the WWFMP are listed along with the managing process of the CPSWM, and public education examples are provided.
