This powerpoint presentation provides a brief overview of the New York State Energy
Research and
Development Authority (NYSERDA), whose purpose is to
solve the state's energy
challenges in ways that will
benefit the economy and the
environment. Topics presented include: Water Treatment System Electricity Use
and Costs;
Sustainability and Water Treatment
Systems; and, Summary of NYSERDA Programs. Presentation conclusions indicate that:
energy savings are achievable at most WTPs; and,
the potential benefits are abundant
and include reduced costs, increased
sustainability of operations, reduced
carbon footprint, and perception by
community of good environmental
stewardship. Includes figures.
