This powerpoint presentation begins by providing the objectives of this research, including:
review past arsenic and M/DBP
research plans and assess the
incorporation of outcomes into the
final rules; and,
understand how research efforts
were and were not utilized in
regulatory development. The approach included the following:
identify and catalog each research objective including
originating research plan,
description of the objective, assigned priority level,
assigned funding (where available), individual projects under each objective, and
anticipated timeframe by project and objective; and,
research tasks were extracted directly from each
research plan summary table. Results of the study
incorporate results presented for each Rule (Arsenic Rule, Stage 2 Disinfectant/Disinfection Byproducts Rule and Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule) and included the following:
overall,
category,
priority, and
time frame; and,
results complete for all but U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (1997).
