This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the scope of AwwaRF Project 4156 that includes the following:
develop a policy neutral guidance document for
reporting of direct and indirect emissions from
water utilities;
if appropriate, develop inventory protocol for
water utilities, and focus on unique
operations not characterized in existing
protocols; and,
develop management strategies (benchmarking
framework and reduction opportunities). Information on greenhouse gases (GHGs) is presented along with scopes of emissions. GHG accounting principles for
water utilities, issues to consider regarding
project accounting, AwwaRF Guidance for
Organization of Emissions, issues regarding benchmarking, organizational boundaries, currently available registries and
reporting inventory protocols, and management/reduction strategies are all presented. Includes tables.
