This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of UCMR2 Methodology, and MWH Certification History. Method Challenges - 521
(the biggest challenge) are presented and include the following: long method development time -
tried to use Methanol as CI agent but
could not get consistent results;
acetonitrile was finally used with O-ring
stability problems;
issues with parent/daughter ratios; 525.2 - was already in full production for
all analytes;
527 - had to use 2 disks during extraction
process due to breakthrough;
529 - modified GC temperature program
for better peak shapes; and,
535 - bought new instrument due to need
for gradient HPLC system. Preparation for UCMR2 is outlined, along with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) evaluations. The presentation addresses UCMR2 issues that include the following:
CDX Inventory;
Verifying Preservation;
Reporting;
Data Quality; and,
Electronic Data Upload Glitches. Presentation conclusions indicate that:
UCMR2 is a complex project, with many
opportunities for "issues" but there
haven't been as many as one would
have expected; methods are more rugged than
originally seen during development -
practice makes perfect; and,
the program is not "glitch free". Includes figures.
