This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of (CNT)carbon nanotubes (CNT). The objectives of this study were to investigate the fate of carbon nanotubes (CNT) in water environments by specifically examining the following: the stability of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT); the adsorptive interaction between natural organic matter (NOM) and MWNT; and, the removal of MWNT in the water treatment process. Presentation summary includes the following: NOM stabilizes MWNT in the aqueous phase; NOM adsorption to MWNT can be represented by modified Freundlich adsorption model; NOM adsorption capacity to MWNT shows reasonable relationship with aromatic contents of NOM; MWNT suspended in natural water is expected to be well removed by water treatment process; and, the existence of NOM hinders the removal of Fullerenes by water treatment process. Includes tables, figures.
