This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Denver Water and its Tap Smart program. Tap Smart goals are presented and include the following: reduce water consumption by 39,400 AF by 2016; system-wide gallons per capita per day from 211 to 165; this is an overall 22% reduction in consumption; and, reduction goals are supported by reducing waste through active conservation and increasing the rate of natural replacement of efficient appliances and fixtures. Aspects of removing barriers to create a commitment to water conservation are provided, along with program examples that get results, the Tap Smart irrigation kit, the Wise Outdoor Watering pilot, low income/nonprofit retrofits, and successes outside of water use. Includes table, figures.
