This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting study objectives that include developing a better understanding of the following:
state-level backwash recycle regulations and their
impact on residuals handling and
treatment processes;
water supply availability and finished
water demands and how they influence residuals handling
decisions; and, the availability of ultimate disposal
options and how they impact the design of residuals
handling facilities. A brief overview of residuals issues is provided, along with the four water treatment plants (WTPs) that were involved in this study. The paper discusses key issues affecting
residuals handling decisions such as:
residuals handling and disposal regulations;
availability of raw water supply; and,
