This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of sustainable water infrastructure, water infrastructure expenditures, current annual water infrastructure funding, and the federal role. The Federal Infrastructure Funding Study objective: find the financing option(s) with the greatest opportunity to provide significant, subsidized capital for water infrastructure projects while limiting the cost to the federal government. Federal infrastructure funding financing options are presented and include: existing mechanisms - State Revolving Fund (SRF), state bond banks, and federal guarantees; and, new possible mechanisms - public/private banks, government-sponsored enterprises, and the Federal Water Infrastructure Bank (FWIB). FWIB purposes would be to provide financial assistance for large water projects, and reduce leveraging cost for SRFs. FWIB financing options are presented, along with infrastructure bank legislation.
