This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of study objectives that included: conducting a Business Case Evaluation (BCE) of
mid-term and long-term Capital Improvement
Program (CIP) of Gwinnett County's water
distribution system;
identifying and evaluating the necessary future
expansion and improvement projects using the
BCE process; and,
updating CIPs of the 2003 Master Plan. A BCE is an asset management-driven approach that seeks to make
investment decisions based on a project's total life cycle costs and benefits. The BCE process is presented, along with the scope of work, the problem statement, general levels of service, model calibration and verification, system evaluation criteria, evaluation of deficiencies and improvements, and summary of results after BCE Process. An adaptive optimization software package powered by the
integrated use of Genetic Algorithms (GA) and hydraulic modeling, called ENCOMS, is presented including capabilities, methodology, and the benefits of ENCOM for operations optimization. Includes tables, figures.
