This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Gen Xers and Gen Yers in the workforce and what drives their different attitudes towards work. The presentation compares and contrasts both generations regarding organizational norms and job satisfaction. Suggestions on helping younger
workers find meaning in the workforce are presented and include: Manage to performance,
not conformance; mentor the whole person; support fundamental
diversity at an organizational level; and, have compassion and
patience, the path to meaning
may be neither linear nor easy.
