This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Bay Area Regional Desalination Project Pilot Study including three runs piloted from October 2008 to April 2009, process schematic, and project site. The goals of ultrafiltration (UF) membrane pretreatment included:
test submerged vs pressurized systems;
determine optimum coagulant dosing; and,
meet water quality goals. Results of a pressurized system and a submerged system are provided. The goals of reverse osmosis (RO) configuration are presented along with major feedwater salinity swings, and RO configuration. RO results are provided. A Young Professionals perspective is presented. Includes tables, figures.
