Operators of small water systems are confronted with many difficult and complex problems. Learning the rules and regulations which apply to a small system and then operating their system in a fashion that achieves compliance are two critical problems. Groups of regulatory agencies, professional associations and education institutions are working very hard to coordinate their efforts to help small water systems achieve compliance in both the United States and Canada. These training efforts are beginning to reach a significant number of small water systems.
