This paper describes the feasibility of City of San Buenaventure (Ventura), California's seawater desalination project. A detailed plan is provided and water supply issues are explored such as the cost to the public, effects on the environment, economic growth, population growth, and public health concerns. Methods to augment current water supply sources are discussed. Public participation and information is explained, current project status is provided, and recommendations for enhanced public communication and information are offered.
