FIELD LOK Gaskets in sizes ranging from nominal 4"-12" in diameter have successfully been used in this country as an effective restraining method on ductile iron pressure pipe for well over a decade. An attempt to apply the same design idea to large size FIELD LOK Gaskets presented several problems which were overcome by US Pipe's new patented FIELD LOK Gasket design concept. This paper briefly covers the history, usage and specifically the design concepts leading to the development of the large diameter, 14"-24" FIELD LOK Gaskets.
