Automatic meter reading (AMR) is more than a means to provide meter readings; it is also a way to improve the cost justification for an AMR system. AMR is a tool to use, and not let go to waste. Once it has been found that the system can help with night flows, leak detection and I/I, people will be looking for the information. Once your meter maintenance department knows you can tell when a meter stops working, the very day it stops, they'll be after the information. Once your billing department knows that you can show irregularities in usage they'll be the information. And once your customer knows they are receiving the best service you can provide, customer service complaints will diminish.
