This study evaluates the technologies and costs for water desalination in the state of Texas. It focuses on reverse osmosis and electrodialysis reversal processes and used the following tasks for approaching the project: review and summarize literature; interview membrane manufacturers and suppliers; survey existing membrane desalination plants; review application and performance of technologies; develop process selection guidance; evaluate concentrate disposal alternatives; produce cost curves and estimating methodology; and, prepare technologies and costs manual.
