The Compagnie Generale des Eaux (CGE) has recently undertaken three distinct water quality modeling studies in distribution networks owned by the Syndicat des Eau d'Ile de France (SEDIF), surrounding the city of Paris, France. The studies were undertaken to investigate the feasibility of this technology, to assess the effort required to develop and calibrate the network models, and to analyze the accuracy and benefits to be derived from this approach. One underlying goal of CGE is to make mathematical water quality modeling an integral part of the online simulation scheme currently being implemented for the interconnected SEDIF system.
