This standard covers current recommended practice for the design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of wire- and strand-wound, circular, prestressed concrete water containing structures with the following four types of core walls: cast-in-place concrete with vertical prestressed reinforcement; shotcrete with a steel diaphragm; precast concrete with a steel diaphragm; cast-in-place concrete with a steel diaphragm. This standard does not cover bonded or unbonded horizontal tendons for prestressed reinforcement of the tank wall, floor, or roof. This standard applies to containment structures for use with potable water or raw water of normal temperatures and pH commonly found in drinking water supplies.
