This powerpoint presentation presents AwwaRF Project 3133 that has the objective of identifying, evaluating and
demonstrating technologies that can be
used to locate plastic and other nonconductive
materials. Advanced locating technologies are presented, including: radar; advanced electromagnetic; and, acoustic. Advantages/disadvantages are given for all three technologies. The presentation also highlights Differential Impedance, the subject of another
AwwaRF Project #2967, and presents its objective, Phase 2 accomplishments, and summarizes results. The Cast-Iron Joint Locator,
OTD Funding, Project 20488, is presented and has the objective of
locating cast-iron joints and
other features. The Advanced Tracer Wire,
AwwaRF Co-funding, Project 3050, is
a wireless signal injection
technique that eliminates the need for an
exposed contact to tracer wire. Includes figures.
