Need Help?
Water systems are not static. They grow in size and change in character to meet the needs of the community. Consequently, the demands on water pumping stations will also change over the life of the pumping station. As the pumping station ages, requirements will increase. To provide for growth and maintenance, flexibility should be built into the pumping station initially. This paper will review the history of the Skyline Pumping Station, a large pumping station and reservoir for the Omaha Metropolitan Utilities District (District). It will document how flexibility was designed into the pumping station operation and maintenance.
