Several specific methodologies can be used to conduct a Vulnerability Assessment (VA). The two most common methods are the following: Risk Assessment Methodology (RAM-WTM) developed by Sandia National Laboratories in conjunction with the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA); and, Vulnerability Self-Assessment Tool (VSATTM) developed by AMSA with USEPA funding. Both can be used effectively and are likely to meet Bioterrrorism Act (PL 107-188) requirements and any future guidance or legislation regarding VAs for wastewater facilities. This paper presents the key differences between these two popular VA methodologies and the results using these methods. Includes 2 references, tables, figures.
