This slide presentation outlines the HMSI CyberCollaborator for integrated hazard management. CyberCollaborator objectives include:
create a collaborative software environment
supporting real time communication and
information sharing to improve the ability of the
utilities to prepare for and respond to unforeseen
events; and, provide support for routine operations as well as
crisis management. Design objectives of the CyberCollaborator include:
focus on knowledge worker in hazard management;
support teams representing multiple domains sharing problem
set and accountability for outcomes;
information exchanged in CyberCollaborator is searchable and
accessible for analysis;
users share documents, data and results AND tacit knowledge;
effortless integration of simulation, analytical and visualization
tools to augment background analytics; and,
built on standard web portal architecture, services and tools. CyberCollaborator goals include:
reduce costs and improve outcomes; improve customer service by reducing the time
required to address operational challenges and crisis
situations;
reduce the negative impact of any given crisis and
restore normal operations sooner; and,
improve performance by facilitating
communications, information sharing and
retrieval among key participants. Includes figures.
