This article discusses two regulatory decisions by the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water to revise only the existing Total Coliform Rule and to not regulate any of nine science-strong unregulated contaminants. This article takes a brief look at USEPA's first two regulatory decisions under the relevant provisions of the seven-year-old 1996 SDWA amendments that established this cyclical decision-making process and what more to expect from them.
