In search of a better way, the Regional Municipality
of Peel (Ontario, Canada) adopted an integrated
approach to data management. Integration of their
water model with their GIS, Work Management and
Water Billing Systems provides Peel a real-time
modeling data warehouse that eliminates
redundancy in data and effort.
Today, Peel loads and updates their modeling data
themselves, ensuring current information is always
used. This paper describes how integration has reduced their dependency
on outsourcing, and increased efficiency in
business and maintenance operations. Includes figures.
