After completing their vulnerability assessments, utilities must plan for security improvements to
minimize risk to their facilities from physical, chemical, biological, and cyber terrorism. This paper
provides information that will benefit water and wastewater utilities and municipalities by
highlighting the latest technologies available and by explaining which of those technologies are
effective in addressing security vulnerabilities. Implementation of a comprehensive security plan will
allow utilities to identify and effectively respond to security breaches in a timely manner. Includes figure.
