The Southern California Water Company (SCWC) has several well sites that will be
impacted by the new arsenic regulation and has been proactively searching for the
optimum treatment options. This paper presents results from the SCWC arsenic
treatment facility in southern California, one of the first full-scale arsenic adsorption
plants constructed in North America. In this paper, the performance of four sorptive
media are compared and the impact of key water quality parameters, considerations
for waste disposal, and the general cost analysis are also discussed. Includes tables, figures.
