This document provides a fairly short, straightforward review of the upcoming regulation based on agreements developed during the FACA process, focusing on the key issues of most concern to a water system. At the time this manuscript was prepared, the proposed and final versions of the LT2ESWTR had not yet been published, and therefore this information is not available in readily available sources. This paper is intended to help water industry processionals understand the upcoming regulation. The discussion is complemented by examples of how the Rule would be applied at an existing water plant in Richmond, Virginia. Although each site is different, the case study at Richmond involves many characteristics that are similar to other surface water facilities that will be subject to this regulation. Includes figures.
