This slide presentation outlines information on two case studies using ultrafiltration membranes. Reasons to consider ultrafiltration membranes are listed and include: superior particle removal; absolute particulate removal barrier; reducing the need for enhanced disinfection technologies; and, they address new and pending regulations such as the LT2ESWTR and future microbe/particle regulations. The two case studies involved retrofitting an existing ultrafiltration WFP from 10 to 15 mgd for the Town of Leesburg's Kenneth B. Rollins WFP, and designing a new 10 mgd ultrafiltration WTP for the City of Chesapeake, Virginia's Lake Gaston Water Treatment Plant.
