In this study, a variety of sample matrices were used to evaluate a prestained matrix spike material from BTF Pty Ltd, Australia (ColorSeed™) for possible inclusion in the laboratory's standard operating
procedure. The intent was to determine what improvements could be made to the information on
matrix recoveries. Laboratory analysis using US Environmental Protection Agency Method 1623: Cryptosporidium and Giardia in
Water by Filtration/IMS/FA demonstrated separate quality control situations that were investigated
using the ColorSeed™ control organism. Includes 3 references.
