This slide presentation outlines information on the bromamine breakpoint curve in solutions of pure bromide and in natural waters in terms of: background initial observations; experimental methods; and, results (speciation, kinetics, breakpoint curves). Conclusions included: trends with Br and NOM are confirmed; presence of strong oxidant at low ratios + Br; reduces peak residual concentrations; transition to i- and tri-species is faster; and, ammonia removal occurs at lower ratios.
