The objectives of this powerpoint presentation included: feasibility testing of CAS-T and PDA system for
coagulant determination and floc growth monitoring;
evaluation of real-time coagulant control and
monitoring system for the highly changeable quality
of influent; and,
optimization of the coagulation/flocculation process. The experimental method is presented, along with conclusions that were:
charge analyzing system has made it possible to detect the particle
charge and the coagulant dosage continuously, and can be used to control the
coagulant dosage automatically;
coagulant automatic system was allowed to reflect the steep variation of
raw water turbidity and coagulant dosage especially when the turbidity of
raw water is high;
photometric dispersion analyzer is a feasible tool in monitoring the
flocculation behavior as well as in determining the state of the coagulant
dosing; and,
charge analyzing system is more effective than that of jar test to remove
turbidity, total organic carbon (TOC), KMnO4 and ultraviolet (UV) absorbance at 254 nm. Includes figures.
