This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of electrolysis and water treatment, Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP) and disinfection, the effect ORP has on bacteria, changing ORP without adding oxidizing or reducing agents, and the MIOX Bench-Top Electrolysis Unit. Several experiments are presented, including: Experiment 1, MIOX Bench-Top Electrolysis Unit - 1; Experiment 2, Batch Electrolysis Unit; Experiment 3, Flow Through Electrolysis Unit; Experiment 3a&b, HPC Growth vs. Applied Current; and, Experiment 3c, HPC Growth vs. Dechlorinating Agent. Conclusions were that: it is possible to adjust the ORP of natural and synthetic water by using Electrolysis; although some chemical changes result, by themselves they do not impact bacterial growth; there is a strong decrease in bacterial growth caused by changing the ORP of water; and, the different dechlorinating agents do not impact bacterial growth differently. Includes tables, figures.
