1. Scope

This Standard specifies methods for determining and reporting performance characteristics for wind energy conversion systems (WECS).
1.2
This Standard applies to WECS having mechanical, electrical, or thermal output.
1.3
This Standard is not concerned with WECS-produced noise, except to report the overall noise level.
1.4
This Standard does not address issues of reliability, safety, or durability, except with specific reference to the performance characteristics of this Standard.
1.5
This Standard does not consider the siting or installation of WECS nor WECS-produced electromagnetic interference.
