La presente Norma considera un connettore di precisione maschio e femmina da utilizzarsi con linee rigide coassiali di precisione di 3,5 mm, in modo da ridurre al minimo gli errori dell’apparecchiatura di prova attribuibili ai connettori coassiali. Questi connettori sono costruiti in modo tale da potersi collegare sulla linea rigida coassiale di precisione di 50 Ohm 3,5 mm e in modo tale da fornire una riflessione debole a 34 GHz. Per le coppie accoppiate, un fattore di riflessione di 0,003f + 0,00135f (GHz) è tipico per i connettori GPC. Questi connettori possono essere, e spesso lo sono, accoppiati con connettori SMA.
