This standard describes a method of determining by mechanical sorting, the composition by mass of a feather and down mixture.
Principle -- A specimen of known mass representative of the material to be tested is mechanically sorted. Identification of the components present is achieved using macroscopic analysis followed by separation based on differences in the density and the resistance to air flow of the components. The mass of each component is determined and expressed as a percentage of the total mass of the specimen.
