Preface

The purpose of this sixth edition of the Lung Cancer Therapy Annual remains the same as that of the previous editions, namely to brief the oncology community about current developments in lung cancer by reviewing recent literature, with emphasis on therapeutic aspects, and to offer an update of the impact that this information will have on the day-to-day management of lung cancer patients.

The treatment of lung cancer is fortunately progressing rapidly with advances in all treatment modalities, but in particular with new options for treatment of non-small cell lung cancer.
