The purpose of this European Standard is to provide ship Owners, designers, Shipbuilders and trial crew with basic guidelines on planning, carrying out and reporting of sea trials.
The guide provides general information to achieve a unified format of sea trials and the trials to be executed should be identified in the contract.
The guide covers sea trials generally adopted for types of mechanically propelled vessels indicated in annex B. Submarines are excluded.
