This part of ISO/IEC 20000 specifies requirements and provides guidance for bodies providing audit and certification of an SMS, in addition to the requirements and principles contained within ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO/IEC 2000-1. It does not change the requirements specified in ISO/IEC 20000-1. The fulfilment of the requirements in this part of ISO/IEC 20000 should be demonstrated by a body providing SMS certification. The guidance contained in this part of ISO/IEC 20000 supports interpretation of these requirements for a body providing SMS certification. NOTE – This part of ISO/IEC 20000 can be used as a criteria document for accreditation, peer assessment or other audit processes.
