This class programme outlines the procedure and conditions for obtaining and renewing an approval for the manufacture of:
— synthetic fibres for designated load-bearing service in ropes.
This class programme is applicable to all types of synthetic fibres. It covers the synthetic fibre (made from a specified number of filaments) and subsequent twisting and coating when performed under the responsibility of the fibre manufacturer.
Natural fibres are not covered.
