Scope and application

This programme is applicable for the approval of manufacturers of:

— glass fibre rovings

— carbon fibre tows

— non-woven fabrics

— woven fabrics

— prepregs

— mats

— other hybrid fabrics on agreement with Society.

Further processing steps for fibre materials shall be covered either by this programme or by the relevant type approval programme.

The approval is required for, and limited to the manufacturing process such as fibre production, fabric or prepreg production. Approval may be limited to certain variants of the materials such as different tex, area weights etc.

Where type approval (TA) is required, the manufacturing, documentation and technical requirements including testing shall also comply with the relevant TA programme.

The approval is valid for one production site of fibre materials. Each production site may include more than one production line covered by the same certificate.

This programme covers the procedures for initial approval, renewal of approval and extension or change of approval.
