This specification defines the qualification program for surface mount tantalum and niobium capacitors. Table 2 lists the tests required. Specification sheets can be added, as required, to define specific products or to cover unique/specific requirements. This document does not relieve the suppliers of their responsibility to their own companies’ internal qualification programs.
Preconditioning
Preconditioning is included before qualification testing to simulate exposure to the thermal and cleaning environments of the assembly process.
