ASSE LEC 2006-2019 was created to set performance evaluation criteria for direct-type boiler and chiller fill valve assemblies with an integral backflow preventer and system pressure regulator used to control the inflow of water into heating and cooling systems to ensure sufficient system pressure. These devices protect the potable water supply against backflow due to backpressure and backsiphonage from high hazard contaminants.
