This document is not implementing any new requirements in ED-89A. It provides additional information required to make the exchange of ATIS messages across ACARS (the only technology described in 89A) possible.
This document contains only the chapters of ED-89 A that were modified. The following convention applies:
PURPOSE OF THIS DOCUMENT
ICAO has made mandatory the use of the Global Reporting Format GRF (ICAO Circular 355, 2019), starting 04 November 2021, for the transmission of the Runway Conditions within the ATIS messages.
This document has been published to align the provisions of ED-89A to the GRF.
